Wats the penalty for riding a bike without insurance???

Hi guys,

 

I had a friend get caught for riding his brother bike without his name on the insurance. But he has got the 2B license, only thing is that his name is not in the insurance.

 

So wats the penalty like for such cases?

His license will be revoked, possibly his brother's license will be revoked too.

got license dun mean wun get into accident

no insurance means if accident, victim got nobody to claim from except filing civil suit against the accused

same as test riding time teok catch. guess it aint a rare thing both cfm go down TP give statement then attend court licence face suspension or even revocation of all classses licence

What do u mean by case to case??

i only know it is a bloody serious offence that will cause both party's license to be revoked. Or, the owner of the bike can claim that he did not voluntarily lend out his bike and the other party will be charge with riding w/o insurance AND theft while the owner will be ok.....

the case to case basis only applies to the owner of the bike... definitely not the unauthorised person riding the bike

even so, it is extremely rare or perhaps never has been for the owner of the bike to get away scot free as this is a serious offence & known fact

Both the owner & his brother licenses can get ready to case by case and step by step surrender to TP liao....

 

Not unless owner of the bike reports that the use of his bike is unauthorised by his brother maybe still can save one license but additional charges for his brother...

My friend who was in a similar situation got his license revoked but in his case, his friend who rode on his bike didn't have a license. Can't remember what exactly happened but it went to court.

I know that its revocation for the owner of the biker, if the rider gets caught riding without a license.

 

So its the same penalty (revocation), whether the rider get caught riding without insurance is with license or without license.

With the petrol price hike and ERPs everywhere today, can forget abt having beer at night. Maybe buy food also not enough (depending on what bike u're riding) with $25.
