Any ppls out there tried using STP engine flush or STP oil treatment on their Super 4? Heard rumours from car mechanic thats both of the product only suitable for cars. If use it on bikes, it will wear out the clutch plate, piston, rings of most of the stuff. Thanks.

i understand that the oil treatment is to thicker the oil. this is good for oil bike said by my mech. i did use it on my xr. nothing bad happen. anyway, we are suppose to add 1/3 or 1/2 to our oil change only. becos we only change 3 litter of oil mah. i wanted to use this but till now did not find someone to share with me (it is not about the money becos the treatment is only a few dollar). we cannot use the whole bottle as our oil will be too thick.

you want to share with me? we go change oil together lah.

Go ahead and used it. Been using it all the time and some of the S4 kakis. Add one whole thin to 4 or 5 liter of eo...btw...we are using motorcar oil.

STP oil treatment is an alternative for ZDDP formulation . All Engine Oil for Car rated API SM have reduced ZDDP to protect the Catalyser Converter from damage. Engine oil for bikes are typically API SG Specs not so much affected. STP Oil Treatment will not damage your Piston and stuffs...it help to reduce the wear/tear in your bike... Moly is the one that caused much slippage of clutch in bike...but is not present(STP Oil Treatment) in the UOA done in US.

I highly recommend using the STP Engine Oil Treatment.

The Extreme pressure additives (ZDDP included API:SG rated) packed in most fully Synthetic engine oil for bikes....is good for enough, if u sticked to your regular OCI... adding STP = overkill + $$ .... your Catalyser converter might contaminate too soon. unless u remove it illegally....:cheeky:

Pour the whol e tin or half of it. A friend told me to pour the whole tin. Is it safe or to thick?

Whole tin?..not sure where your friend gotten the info from. Its to thick and at high rpm the pressure be so high that you gonna blow some gaskets or retard your engine..even worst..hydraulic action may occurred. The best mixed is 1 tin to 4 or 5 litres of eo..regardless of brand. What you are doing with this oil is to enhance your vicosity which provides better gear cushioning and better lube to keep the engine quieter.

Yes, the tin is blue in colour and tin is in soft board packing..and you can get it from "Trinito" (Selling exclusively eo only) at much cheaper price than anywhere else..$5.50 or less. Its along AMK Ave 3 (b4 Caltex station) and a few shop next to Ban Hong Mototiam.

About the flush..plse read the instruction..you are suppose to mixed with eo and let it run for awhile (long idling till eo is very hot) or go right a few km and later drained it out when warm. It suppose to have the prperties to remove slugdes and contaminants in the gear box . When I did mine a long time along, I drain out my ole eo the same amount as the STP tin content and pout the stp in rode the whole day till I was ready to drain it and change eo.

The above is same for any eo flush and do it once only in a long long time. If you regulary change eo on schedule type od rider..don't even norther to do any flushing.

Alright, i shall give it a try today. Anyway thanks 4 the info Ah Pek!

is this the same one as the one i can buy at jb? its a small blue tin over there.

stp engine treatment.

so if using the small tin then hw many tins for s4?

so correct procedure is:

1. put STP fuel treatment in e.o BEFORE e.o change

2. warm up engine

3. change e.o to new one

4. need to put any more STP in the new oil?

thanks

:sian: Hmmmmmmm....how come no one is answering you ? o_O

Not sure which product of STP are you talking about. The procedure you listed above is for gear box flush treament...not oil treatment.

If you are doing engine flush..Item 2 should be "go ride a few km or idle for at least 15 to 20 mins.

Item 4 should be same as item 1..that is mixed it first in ration of one tip STP OIL TREAMENT to 4-5 litres of eo.

REMEMBER..ENGINE FLUSH is different from ENGINE OIL TREATMENT. Read the labeled instruction on the packaging.

Not sure about OWS product..but what to call it I dunno..just that they provide better vicosity and makes engine runs quieter because it enhances gear to gear cushsioning and vicosity gets thicker and last longer thus better protect. If you really want good stuff without clutch slippage, X-1R is the only one I can recommend..its a metal conditional...oso "Power Up" is quite good at that.

As far as oil treament brands are concern...its just the company, why pay more..guess they are all about the same..as long as its not make in China..may be got melamine and afterwards you gearbox get "stone"...LOL!

Been using stp for quite a while..at first will feel the diff..but after long run ..the engine back to normal ..

What I notice..stp engine treatment and blue coral ...the liquid is thick ..thus it make ur EO thicker ...but for OWS engine treatment..the liquid is thin like wd40 ...

anyway i tried ows flush and treatment ...thumbs up ...worth the money ...

The word "oil treatment" is very subjective. If its like WD40..than its not like Blue Coral or STP which is a viscoity enhancer..makes the oil thicker (W). I think OWS call it oil treatment but not what STP and BC is as for vicosity enhancement then..it more of a metal conditioner or liube enhancer...much like "MotoUP" selling in NTUC...its good too but like MotoUp..it specify usage for motorcycle.

X-1R is a metal conditioner and stated so in its label..use by NASA and is approved by American Motocycle Institue for use with motorcycle. If OWS is the same thing..be sure the label stipulate the content claim and what it is but just not "oil treatmeant" as a specific product. You can pour "Knife" brand cooking vegetable oil or Mazola Corn oil :thumb: and blend with your Motul or Maxima..it works too but what does it actually do?..yah..big question..and in the long run, does it really help or make things worst.

So guys...make sure what you buy says what you buy for on their labels.

imran where u get the treatment? and how much?

ah pek can pm me the price of the x1-r treatments?

thanks

Its $38 now..previously $35..can get $39 else well but off the shelf is $49. This is not the same packing sold in AutoBac which is pack in Malaysia..its the genuine ones shipped in from the USA.

Its a metal conditioner and friction eliminator..whenever metal meets metal and protection is needed..also labeled as "Horsepower In A Bottle". Also makes the gear box stuff inside feeels like wet soap rubbing web soap instead of wet hand rubbing wet soad. The only one I know approved by the AMI (American Motorcycle Institute), race proven in NASCAR, ARAC, IMSA, Dyno proven and use by NASA.:thumb: ..been using for years!

Contains no particles like PTFE or molybdenum graphite which causes clutch slippage...example of such product like "Slick 500"...but this is very good for CARS!

Its a treatment that prevent wear and tear by eliminating friction..any metals contact that rubs or are in contact...like gear teeth to gear teeth. Reach high rpm faster without stress to engine and coat itself to scarring metal surfaces to bring back the performance of your ride. Its not a FLUSH. Even if you run dry off eo due to some reason, with X-1R used in your eo..yyou can run without eo for quite sometime.

1 bottle is in US 8 oz. 1st treatment is 2oz per little. Eo can last up to 7k to 10k before change. Thereafter..you only need 1 oz per litre for 2nd eo changes and future changes.

so u mean it is mixed with eo? why 1st treatment 2oz but 2nd eo change 1oz? if go for eo change, the eo with x-1r will all be drained out... can explain further... i quite blur sori.. thanx

This as instructed from the manufacturer. The reason is that all your wear and scortch metatl surface surfaces are coated and protected..inshort.."treated"..eremember, this is a metal treatment to eliminate friction (metal against metal). The aftermath is just to maintain.:thumb:
