  1. 1. Would you renew COE or buy a new bike?

    • Renew 10-year COE
    • Renew 5-year COE
    • Scrap and buy new bike

Elections coming. Maybe there will be some freak results for COE bidding soon. Or maybe LHL will fake a "listening ear" and relax COE for a temporary period of time.

How are spare parts availability for Phantom ?...will there be supply till the next 10yrs? especially phantom tyres...

phantoms are not using specialized tires. As for spares, there will always be ready stock since the replacement model Honda Tiger uses the same engine parts. Other things like those external accessories, you can either use OEM (Ah Boy, Aunty) or original (FJT, EVERFIT, EVERSUCCESS), or scrapyards. No one can predict the next 10 years. But if you are really the Armageddon type, you can always buy and stock up now. I am btw...I keep spares of quite a few items myself.

Not a cruiser. More of a street bike. Yes. Available in Singapore. But rather rare if you asked me. Cos made in Indonesia and reception wasn't that fantastic when it launch in Singapore.

Hi, I have been searching online for what to do with my TA200 since its COE will be up in October 2018 (FX-plate), and it cannot be renewed any further. I have had the bike for about 6-7 years, and have overhauled the engine twice in 2014 and 2015.

I hope to buy another bike, but I do not wish to have 2 bikes at one time. From what I see online, there are a few options:

1. Scrape and deregister the bike at the LTA approved scrapyard or through a workshop for $0;

2. Sell the bike to whomever might want it for the remaining 5-6months;

3. Sell the parts and only scrape the chasis/motor.

Are there any common options that other Phantom riders take? I am tempted to do (3) but I am not sure where I could do it.

Any advice please? :?

Karlie, you can ride to the scrapeyard, then once you get the paper work done for scraping, you ask them for an hour to "Say Goodbye" to your Phantom..... then in that 1 hour quickly strip off whatever parts that are valuable! :lol:

My friend did that before, I asked for the headlight. :lol:
