NEED HELP: Bike Insurance Rider/Sub-rider

Hi all

 

I am currently the sub-rider of a bike. Am not the owner of the bike, but will be transferring the ownership to me sometime in future. I have a few questions which I hope someone out there can help me clarify.. thankyou!

 

1. - can i change the insurance to put my name as the main rider once i have obtain full ownership of the bike?

 

2. - if yes, how much do i have to pay for it?

 

3. - how much is the fee to cancel a subrider and put another person's name?

 

really hope someone can help me clarify.. am on ntuc insurance

The best is to call up NTUC and ask, straight from the horses mouth and free. What's stopping you?

Hi Babe,

 

You could get your own insurance with your name as owner and main rider of the bike, before you go down to LTA to transfer name.

 

1. The cost for that new insurance is dependant on your age, riding experience, age of licence as well as the value of the bike.

 

2. Since you are getting a fresh insurance and adding in a 2nd/sub rider to the bike. It should be free, but if you add in that 2nd rider/sub rider to your insurance on a later date, the insurer might want to recalculate your premiums for the ages difference between you and your sub rider. Which you or your sub have to pay and a admin charge for printing that new piece of insurance paper with your 2nd/sub rider name on it.

 

 

3. Call NTUC Income to have them estimate your cost on the safer side.

Can i ask. I got a bike a KTM200. The main rider is my dad. Then if i be the sub rider,Do i have to pay for insurance? Or just pay for the Sub rider fee? How much is the sub rider fee? thanks.
