UPDATE 20 Jun 2014

Application Location

1) For JB inward side, MACS is across the tiny overhead bridge immediately after the bike passport counterson the ARRIVAL SIDE, inside the CIQ building. If going in by car, It is on the extreme left side at the car lanes.

[Credit luminicious ] If you're going by bus, after you reached the customs bus-stop, you have to take the escalator up to clear the malaysians custom, however instead of going straight to the counters, after you come up by the escalators you will see a MACS office. They don't require any forms or what, just 30 ringgit and your passport will do (13 months validity)

[Credit luminicious ]

Saturday to Thursday:

0700 HRS to 1330 HRS

1400 HRS to 1745 HRS

Friday:

0700 HRS to 1400 HRS

1445 HRS to 1745 HRS

2) For 2nd Link, counter is one floor above the bike counters on the DEPARTURE SIDE, use stairs/lift immediately after bike counters.

Things you need

1) Singapore Passport with 13 months validity and

2) Exactly RM30 (for one year validity)

3) Not to be on Malaysia's suspect list

Note: 4 stamps in last month no longer required (Bro fitaqu 15-Feb-2012)

Note: Photos no longer needed for ALL PASSPORTS, both biometric and non-biometric (Bro doremi 17-Feb-2012)

1st timer/Expired MACS

1) Enter into Malaysia using whitecard as per normal

2) Get for MACS

3) REMEMBER TO GET PASSPORT STAMPED ON DEPARTURE

Notes on not exiting Malaysia from Woolands/Tuas

(Through experience of bro mamu27 )

- MACS not accepted at Bukit Kayu Hitam for entry into Malaysia

- Exiting MIGHT have difficulty, and will need to waste time explaining to immigration officer

Cool, so can apply arr... so much for Iskandar and long term pass things... time to apply leave to go do liao.. Thanks for the verification.

Stupid question, what if I just got a new passport? Which means I have to bring along the old passport to prove I went in alot of time per month?

And, will the summons get tagged to this? hehehehe..... If so, I rather don't do...

Oh it open 24/7. The not so bad. Can visit it during any petrol topup trip. Hmmm, then maybe need to carry my old passport just in case.

Well, don't get summon is of course the best. Hmmm... based on the how it operate, it seems like it the same as current pasport system.

Anyone wanna apply together with me.. I am actually lost. LOL If alot go together maybe teamwork will get us through... haha

LOL... or all get lost together.

Sunday morning I think there's one group going. But a lot go also means wait very long.

If you have all the time in the world, just bring passport, 1x passport photo and RM30. Go to malaysian immigration and ask the immigration officers.

This is for those of us not involved in the Iskandar Region Development

Things you need

1) Singapore Passport with 2 years validity and 4 entry stamps in the last month -they really check

2) Printed application form - See Step 2 and 3.

3) Passport photo on light coloured background, either uploaded or hardcopy

4) RM30 - they did not take S$ from an applicant while i was there.

5) Not to be on Malaysia's suspect list

6) PSP, iPhone or any thing to kill time (optional)

7) Time and Patience - they got more time than you, application is open 24/7

My experience

NOTE: Steps 1 to 3 can be performed at the 2nd Link immigration office.

1) Goto http://macs.imi.gov.my

2) Fill up form and upload photo, same photo as current passport photo will be good. If you dun have softcopy, hardcopy photo is accepted during application.

NOTE: leave the Sponsor section blank, just enter a figure in the currency import/export declaration below the allowed limit

3) Print out completed form

-2 sided portrait on A4 paper, you might have to shrink the printout to fit A4. (Some dude went with the form printed landscape and was rejected.

-Colour or black doesn't matter

4) Go down to Woodlands or 2nd link Malaysian checkpoint. I got my passport stamped before going up to office, in case queue was too long, then I could abort mission. You can actually dun fill in white card and head straight to office. Then use the MACS immediately after you get it.

NOTE: I did mine at 2nd link, if someone did his/hers at Woodlands side, please share

5) Go towards the centre of the building. Go through door leading to a staircase. "VISA" and "MACS" are pasted on door. The door is facing the departure side of the building. Ask any immigration officer for the VOA office and they should be able to direct you.

6) The VOA (Visa on Arrival) and the MACS counter are side by side. Go to Kaunter MACS (MACS counter) and pass passport and form and RM30 for payment to the guy. I waited at counter for 20 min before he collected from me.

7) Be attentive to the counter, they will call for you to go register and test your thumbprint. No queue numbers will be given. A PSP/iPod/iPhone at this point will prove very helpful to kill time.

8) Just wait and wait. Took me 2 hours. There was only a family of 3 Singaporeans living in Tg Kupang in front of me.

9) Collect receipt, passport with new rfid sticker (attached below-of course i had to deface my details), whitecard (if u stamped passport, they forgot my white card. luckily i remembered).

Thanks Clement Chiang...

unpaid summons are tagged only to bike registration number (and not to passport).
