Follow the manual. Its essential to change at 300km because during running in, tiny metal pieces and flaks will form and circulate around your engine oil. That is not healthy as it caused more stress, wear and tear to your engine. Just imagine a metal pot of water with sands. You keep on stirring the water. What do you get eventually?

thanks ohayo..point noted..

during running-in speed-wise, how shud i regulate? 70-80 km/hr, after 300km oil change, can go faster..?

& oso to play safe just follow the manual closely for oil change-out, rite?

Thanks

Collected my bike today, an enjoyable riding experience, a relaxing one. Prob is I bought it without IU, the shop intro a shop nearby which fixes IU. I went there and the shop say no more unit left thus I went down to vicom kaki bukit. After which I bought a IU and vicom says they dun fix for me, I have to go to wrkshop n fix it and I was like WTF.

I went down to the shop that fixes IU again and the uncle says closin soon and say he dun fix n ask me go other shop. Its getting late and not much shops to go as well, really damn piss off.

Anyone noe which shop help to fix IU?

Good to see all the replies.. Btw for ur gts 200 have u try the top speed? Anymore gts rider here to share..

Hi I am another Gts200 rider, I have tried my top speed and it was 120km/h only. Anyone here got any idea that I can improve my top speed by doing any modifications?

Actually 120km/h is okay enough for a scooter alr as it is for leisure riding. My roadwin can only go abt 110km/h n I feel it's alr ok for sg roads although at times I hope to have 10-20km/h faster.

For my joymax 300i I have yet to try the top speed as still doin run in but I can hit 70-80km/h at ease thus confident enough for the top speed.

One thing to add on is that after riding a street bike for near to 2 yrs, riding a maxi scooter is really relaxing n enjoyable. I feel like driving a car only without a roof overhead. The compartment is gd enough to store my things and a good thing is that it comes wif a cigar jack as well.

Hope all who r riding sym do feel enjoyable as me

Have alr rectify my iu prob wif future scootering, mounted on my handlebar. Spoken to one of the mech there and was told joymax 300i is that freakin new n rare in sg, he said less than 10 ridin it in sg.

I think this should be y thread is slow moving, hope more will contribute on their exp.

Help...

My SYM GTS of 2 wks old is already creating problems..

Got the bike on 5-Jan-2011 from MAH, on 8-Jan-2011 bike unable to start, had to tow it to MAH, found that carb overflow, was told it was a factory fault..so I was like, its ok..still acceptable...

but one week later on 17-Jan-2011, bike cannot start again, this time when i pull the brake & press the starter no sound & i noticed eventho I put the side-stand, there was no side indicator alarm on the dashboard...seems like batt fault..still at my fren,gg to arrange towing to MAH again..the towing was borned by me

Cannot be bike is infact less than 2 wks old already giving problems, & the following week dont tell another prolem going to arise..So how? is it possible for me to change a new bike (like how toyota recalled their cars when they found out that they shipped a batcch of faulty cars)...even if still warranty & probs were solved, as a customer, I feel cheated...

Any advice?

Ojo,

Since you bought brand new, u have not much choice but claim as much as possible as it is still free and under warranty!!... Nice bike to ride but damn ex to maintain... get a specialist SYM to check your bike... like AC Motor, Future etc when warranty is over. Becareful though as they then to talk alot of KOK and BULL story. Use your common sense. Never trust them and use your warranty to the max!! Like you, I'm stuck with this bike for at least a few years....

Me too... regretted buying the GTS200... servicing and repair is DAMN Ex... Do you know Overhauling our GTS will cost us around 2KSGD plus.... so I sent to JB and it cost RM 2K plus....and the Singapore foreman (Johorean) will start their KOK and BULL story saying need to order from Taiwan when they are buying in Malaysia... Yes, there is SYM factory in Penang. I will nvr go to Singapore Motordiam to repair my bike again unless it's an emergency.

I just send to JB for an overhauling as my engine is going in water... The engine cant be rebored... DAMN!! Need to change the entire piston and block!

Trying out their service and price... see got alot of difference or not if do in Singapore. I have already spend ard 3K SGD within 6 months by so called scooter specialist in singapore trying to repairing my GTS and it still gives me alot of problem.... I give up on them.... charge so high but problem not fully solved...

This is a very nice bike to ride but be prepared to maintain it like a car.... and the resale value SUCKS big time..... It feels like maintaining a BUSA but it's 176cc bike 2B bike... DAMN REGRET!!

I will nvr buy an SYM Bike again... that is for sure.... I be sticking back to Japanese bikes.... at least their are more realiable.

What can you claim depends on your warranty. I dunno what is specificed in your warranty.

I too though taiwan bike easy to maintain and cheap spare parts... Boy, I was dead wrong... It's very very very expensive if compared to Wave, LC135, FZ150i, Nouvo etc. You dont believe me you can ask around and check the prices. Just Pray your bike dont spoilt. It's cheaper then the italian counterparts but it still too expensive. I feel like repairing my car. I should have bought a wave and 2nd hand weekend car instead.

JB one just check under SYM Malaysia site and there alot of dealers for this bike. I going to the Taman Pelangi one. You check it out which one is more convinent for you.

It's know fact they charge us singaporean bikes higher then local bikes but at least it's STILL CHEAPER then the so called expert scooter singaporean motordiam who hire Johoreans. WHy should we pay more, when we can go directly to Johor to a Johorean motordiam to repair using same Johorean foreman. How Ironic!!

Good Luck and Enjoy your new ride.

pump the third tank today and it clock around 30km/l for me. I was shock as joymax is a 300cc bike (to be exact abt 263.7cc). For a 2A bike I think joymax is really worth it in terms of fc. The engine is quiet and smooth, great fc. Quick acceleration ( I think ).

This afternoon was damn hot and when I parked my bike after reaching destination there's like a sound of a fan.

Is it normal coz of the heat thus the fan has been activated or wad

What was indicated on the temperature gauge when the fan kicked in? Was your ride a lot of start/stop? Did the fan stopped after awhile?
