Currently I am riding X1R. I feel that X1R is NOT stable when riding. Some of my friends say that also.

How to lower down the X1R height? So That the Central of Gravity (CG) can be lower down.

Lowering the front end is easy, just raise the fork bars through the yoke a few inches is fine, maybe add more fork oil to reduce the likeliness of bottoming out the front end.

The rear would be challenging.

Anyway, that is all the lowering you can do. But is it really worth the effort?

Do you have those racing footrests installed? Use standards instead, they are much more stable.

Are you obese? Lose weight, its much more stable, and its good for your health.

Are you using undersized tires? Lose them and use manufacturer reccomended tire sizes. Its more stable when you bank, and its much safer.

If its not stable enough despite doing everything here, then you just have to deal with it. Cubs, with their light weight, and rear heavy design, are not renowned for their stability.

If you cant deal with it, then you will have to look at more conventional motorbikes.

I am 63 kg only, using Bridgestone tyre at conventional size. A few friends of mine who ride X1R experience the same problem. When riding at 80 kmh, the bike feel very unstable especially during u make a turn. (Presonally I feel that aerodynamic design of X1R is not that good)

Previously I ride 125Z and X1, there was no problem. The problem seem happens at X1R only.

What are the things that I can do to lower my rear?

Source for shorter shock absorbers?

Lower rear will probably cause more instability while cornering. Cubs already so low, how much lower can you go?

Hi,

Im also riding X1R, my front fork already lowered by the previous owner about an inch, back is stock height.I have personally experienced thrice the the main stand grazed the road hump when I have a pillion on ( same effect if you lower your rear ride height I guess ).My only gripe is during cornering at low speeds eg coming out from the carpark, the front wobbles & this is also true in a straight line with one hand riding...

You meant you have lower down front fork, but still experience wobbles when riding straight with 1 hand?

Get your bike checked. Wobbling at high speeds is normal. But at low speeds is definitely not.

Post these questions in the x1r thread. The gurus there will help you. There are many gurus in the thread.

The front height was lowered by previous owner, it was okay at first (no wobble at low or high speed ) but I went through some big shallow potholes & after that the wobble starts...dunno if the front rim is still true or not..now busy fiddling with my carb TPS after changing back to ori carb..big diff in petrol cons..previous owner installed the Keihin PE28 I guess..now pocket suffering almost over. Will give this wobble prob a lookover soon, hopefully nothing serious. Also will check my steering head column bearings just to be sure they are not faulty..

Been riding x1r for bout 2yrs, so far till i sold it, no complains, stable, using 80/90 frnt battlax, 90/80 rear battlax, lower the front fork till left abt 2 finger freeplay, stiffen front fork. SOmetimes havta except that x1r is small and crosswinds at expressway will push u, causing you to wobble, sometimes the road not that smooth can also cause you to wobble, i usually enter corners at 60-70km/h goin towards expressway wit no problem, low speed control is easy becoz of its lightweight. anywaes try checking your steering cone, maybe havta tighten? anitink the bros on x1r thread are usually open to all question. cheeerss and ride safe
