Hi bros,

Was stop by LTA just now. Apparently wana saman me for my arrow pipe which I have cert for its street legality. Then proceed to ask me to go inspection as he say my signal is LEDs and cant be used? Really? I really dont know and cant find any other info on LTA legal/illegal mods on their website. But seriously almost everyone here change their signal light to those led light that is very common. The signal is amber color as it shuld be. My red brake light also led. I also have no mudguard which i will duly accept if I am going to be fine for that. But really? LEDs signals? Any bros got experience? Or is me just suay? :dozed:

Flash rate problem. Think cannot exceed 60 flashes per minute.

LED signals, unless you have proper electronic flasher relay for LED to lower blink rate, or you have wired up resistors to increase load, they will definitely blink faster than 60fpm.

Go buy electronic flasher relay for LED, LAB should have.

Oh, and size too. If one of those micro-mini-super-duper-small lights......well....

Even if Bro Tachnicolour is right about the 60fpm thingy rule, it's still not stock and they still can summon you right?

If i increase the flash rate, is that legal? I see the lta and cisco, their YBR the flash rate super fast while stock YBR the flash rate is like super slow.

Side note. Something to share about LEDs and incandescent (Normal bulbs) light bulbs.

The report. http://www.webbikeworld.com/t2/motorcycle-led-light/motorcycle-led-turn-signals.htm

The test shows that normal bulbs are brighter than LEDs. Although from 2007, the LEDs still operate the same. Something to ponder.

As long it is not stock, LED is illegal. I think it has to do with the brightness. All stock headlight, signal, tail light etc has to pass a certain lighting standard like DIN standard. Meaning it will certified pass with the stock bulb/led. Hence if yours stock is not LED and you changed to LED, the whatever lights might not meet the brightness, lights thrown, flash rate, blah blah blah standard, hence not road worthy.

Anyway LTA is well known to be rigid. Anything not stock, you have to take the risk. For the front number plate thing, my friend riding Super 4 also kanna. His number plate is those metal kind and place at the usual horn area. Usually the plate is infront of the horn but don't know why his is behind the horn. Anyway the horn only cover the tip of one alphabet and LTA catch him for covering up the plate. But you know what, it all started with LTA spotted his aftermarket exhaust without silencer.

So another rule of the thumb, try not to have those very obvious illegal stuff which LTA can easily spotted while riding. After he stopped you, he can slowly look for those hidden illegal stuff.

fck man...just came back from vicom.. front and rear led cannot, brakelight led cannot, i dun have mudguard but he write long2..missing mudguard, red reflector and number plate lamp..how awesome is that?

Ask him saman how much, he dunno..ask me to wait for lta letter.. i ask him LTA website i check the list of illegal mod why never put led light cannot, not in black and white..how am i suppose to know i buy liddat? CDC never teach me, TP stop me 3 times never say about lights, 60% off bike i see on road also have this led lights on them and bt mine flashing is NOT fast, normal speed.. I ask him why got double standard? some say can some say cannot and y isnt it listed publicly for everyone to know?

http://www.onemotoring.com.sg/publish/onemotoring/en/lta_information_guidelines/modifications_and_vehoffences/modification_guide.html

it didnt specify here, so how can new motorists like me who buy 2nd hand bike as it is know abt such rules? and even newer bikes these days comes stock with LED lights. How rubbish is that? And as it turns out my pipe is def street legal with the sound and emission nothing wrong at all..assholes, i check online and wat not and i cant even see how much the fine is..even vicom dunno, wheres the fcking blueprint and guidelines for this?

i got fine by lta for led signal lights before.

the officer said though your led signal is amber colour. your cover casing is 'white/transparent' which is not streel legal.

it has to be amber. i was like, smlj?

anyway just for your info, the fine for led signal light is $50, no mudguard is $30.

I previously got make enquiry on modification for LED signal light and brake light at Vicom. The person incharged told me personally that if go inspection can pass if only the LED colour for signal light is orange,LED brake light is red,can pass one. But i not sure how come u went inspection cannot pass..

best is stay stock..not like exhaust system..pre-approved..just to temper with silencer or anything within the whole pipe then okay..getting a cbr 150 stock lights onto a rxz is definitely a no-no..it would also be considered as after market product as the lights weren't pre approved for that bike..

nonsense uh, it has to stop somewhere else they should post it online on their website in blueprint for all the public to see and especially for new riders who bought 2nd hand bikes which are already like dat.. i been riding my bike for 1 yr plus stop by tp and lta many times yet nobody say anything abt my light until now..how ridiculous..its like nobody know exactly the rules are and everybody saman depending on their mood and preferences..

i mean talking abt those big things like illegal mod exhaust, super high beam headlamp all this are basic but small things like our signal lights are so minor even LTA dun bother putting these info for everyone to be educated..my bike originally also got no mudguard but they refuse to believe me even after i show them how the original bike looks online on husqvarna website,n even KTMs also dun have..instead they showed me an old 1990s-2000 model husky with a ugly modded mudflap that is not original of the bike? hello, we are already goin to 2012 and bike is 2009 model..idiots

my TP frens who are woking for years already in the enforcement also say sure can, end up go vicom cannot...utter rubbish, this is a gray area they must fix i already lodge a complain over the phone and awaiting my saman notice in which i shall go to sing ming and demand some answers..wish me luck..

Just curious. After LTA tell you to go for inspection, what if you change back everything to stock and then go for inspection. Can avoid summon isnt it? Or they take pictures to make sure you dont change anything?
