when to change EO/spark plug?

I wonder how often you all change ur EO/spark plug?

 

Is follow mileage or like a few mths duration.. What if i doesn't ride often, only use my bike to travel from home to camp..

 

3 mths sure cannot hit 3000 km.

Well it depends on how you care for your machine.

For me, I will change EO after 6 months or hit 6000km. Spark plug will change every 50000km.

Iridium plug can last very long. 50k km shouldn't be a problem. Normal plug may not last so long.

then if use fully syn EO and iridium spark plug for a rxz can i say that i change my EO at 5k km and plug at 20k km..

Normal around 15k to 20k km. You can always take reference from your bike manual.

the thing is if u care for ur bike u will change quite often than normal...bike is like us...when u take care of the bike, it will give u a smooth ride in return

upss to this, it doesn't cost much..just save a breakfast and next day lunch and can get iridium liao..

As for me, I will change my DRZ EO every month for normal transport. Also depend on how u ride the bike. For example, if I go trailing, I usually change my EO after the 2nd trailing session.

 

Are u riding a 125z? those bikes no need to place much importance on EO, just put a decent 2T can liao. I would probably change every 3 months, a decent $12 semi-synthetic oil can liao.

O.o..then for high revv leiis..? hmmm..cause now i understand by what does it means when engine gets rough and vibrate more than usual..i always do touring sometimes with pillion..only ride up to 1800km only..

My OEM spark plugs lasted me to 50km. The second batch is going to change soon.

For engine oil depend on bike. Those with oil filter can last more than 5000km~10000km.

Those no oil filter normally 2000km ~3000km.

Or 12 month is can't hit the mileage.

 

For spark plug. Check the condition of the spark plug head every 10000km if ok just clean it. If wear too much change it.

I change EO every 2 months (max 2500km) and oil filter every alternate oil change on my RVF.

My ride is a cb400.I use semi-syn EO,change every 3000km,oil filter change at 9000km(so is 3 oil change 1 filter)

Total bottles of EO used-2.9L+2.7L+2.7L=8.3L.(per bottle price at $12)

 

Spark plug and coolant I change at every 15k km.(because is a 1993 machine)

 

I seldom use the bike unless I go touring,suggest to change your oil once a year if you used less than 5000km/year
