I never tested when buying, because I'm not a bike mechanic or expert and I cannot tell just by riding around a carpark if a bike is good. So there is no point testing as long as the bike works. The first time riding a different bike always takes getting used to. Riding a few rounds around a carpark isn't going to help my decision.

As for selling I allowed test rides for 2B bike. Class 2 I didn't allow test rides because I couldn't be sure that whoever turns up can confidently handle a big bike, but I relented when a serious buyer asked to test. He ended up buying the bike. Just go by your gut feel, chat a bit with the buyer, it is not difficult to tell who is serious and knows what he's doing.
