Hello.

Does anybody know what is the minimum age for a pillion? I tried looking at the Traffic Police website but it only states that the pillion must wear a helmet. No age was mentioned except for children in cars seats.

Thanks!

That statement seems to be more for cars. Even so, it seems that you can still have a child below the age of 8 to ride as long as he puts on a helmet.

I wrote to the Traffice Police department and they have confirmed that the pillion rider cannot be less than 10 years old.

//Under Rule 36 of the Road Traffic Rules, Chapter 276, Rule 15 states that no person riding a motorcycle shall carry any child below 10 years of age as a pillion passenger. //

hope this helps.
