Hi guys, would like to get either this 2 bike for travelling as my work place is from Pasir Ris to Woodlands.

I would like to ask are the maintence about the same such as fuel consumption, and the parts? Cause i actually skip 2a, and my 2b bike is quite underpowered sometimes.

I recommend none of the 2, since it is for travelling home-work-home. no storage and uncomfy. the purpose of a sportsbike is to go to the track. :cheeky:

Rat bike - A motorcycle not necessarily kept in pristine condition, often painted matt black. Minimal maintenance and mismatched parts often used.

I don't really need a top box, i prefer sportsbike posture than any other bike. If it rains i'll just drive.. Just thinking are they about the same if about the same i would just go for the 1000cc

Alot of people say sportbikes are uncomfy. It's all about getting used to the position.

I ride an R6, I would say go for an R1. More torque is good for the street. The R6 has all it's power at very high rpms.

Just take note that these 2 bikes has a ridiculous amount of heat coming off from them. If you travel alot via main road with traffic lights. You will suffer. If highway then no issues.

Is there anyway to reduce the heat from those 2 bikes??

No, that's how they were designed to be. Whatever coolant you use difference will only be a few degrees. Use highways as much as possible as the heat will shoot up only during stop and go traffic.

It's not only these 2 bikes. I believe most, if not all Class 2 bike are like that.

Go for R1 if you can afford. Once you ride a 1000cc, you will find it hard to look back. I rode 600, 750, 1000 and now 1300. Honestly 1000cc still rock. Maintenance and parts pricing is about the same. Rd tax just $80 more (if didn't remember correctly). Maybe insurance might be around $400 range diff.

As for the heat part, there is no choice. Sport bike are that hot particularly due to high compression. Nothing you do will bring down the heat drastically. Just accept the heat and enjoy the ride.

changing coolant, hose, higer pressure cap, bigger radiator, remove thermostat(veri big diff) but faster coolant pump failure, remove cat. all will bring down temp.

If you can afford r1/r6 I suppose a s4 spec 1 would be peanut to you, so mine suggestion is, if you really like r1/r6 so much, you can maybe get 2 bikes, spec1 for regular work to home. r1/r6 for outing and track and showoff. Thats what I plan to do when I gets older.

wow, consumerism at its finest. All due respect, in a garage of a few bikes, there's always one which will be the workhorse and the others 'underutilized', why recommend getting 2 bikes when rhetorically only one gets used?

In my opinion, my vote is for the R6. Not only is it lighter, it's powerband suits the regular roads and highway speeds. There's no need for that extra torque if potting around the roads here.

Haha thats what I did before I manage to sell off my spec2. Had 2 bikes.

In the end the super4 is more like my leisure bike. Use it to go Jalan jalan in town or when i go shopping. Got box for putting my grocery.... LOL

Seldom utilize and most of the time just parked in the Carpark....

If you can afford it then it will definitely be more convenient. :p
