Today while riding, somewhere in Chin Swee Tunnel along CTE going towards City, all 3 lanes clear while a jam started forming up on lane 3 as vehicles queued up to exit at Havelock Rd. Me on lane 3, dunno why suddenly felt like staying in lane 3 to slow down although it was clear on my right. Taxi in front of me following a van a little too close, and i guess we both couldn't see in front of the van, when it suddenly e brake, perhaps following to close to the front also. The shocker was the taxi e brake until tyre screech damn loud (i could hear despite wearing FF) and at the moment before impact he swerve so sharply to the right and steer back in time to pull ahead, exactly like bike crank course in driving school. I was amazed about the cabby's skill in steering his vehicle than anything else at that moment. At the back of my mind was, had i change lane as the lot were slowing down, I would be just in time to be at the spot where the fella swerve out when he thought he could not e brake in time to avoid collision. Dunno what made me keep my distance when i would have done an overtake on any other day... Maybe someone watching over me today. I live to ride another day.

P-plate should be an attitude to safety and riding. There's always more to learn.

Time to KPKB again.

Today riding towards LAB, was in the center lane.

This uncle riding a "F" license plated CG125 look alike bike just squeeze me off my lane! He came from my right, without any signal and cut into my lane without checking mirror or blindspot.

Brake, horned him and he ignored me. :sian:

Who says drivers are always in the wrong.

Then before CTE after nee soon, this lady on a BMW 3 series, made a last minute acute lane change from lane 1 to slip lane to CTE. I was in the middle lane and my front tire almost got cut off near her left passenger door. Horned and raised my hand in protest and she got away without any acknowledgement.

Wa read until 100 pages liao. Really getting desensitized to incidents of other drivers cutting into lane without signalling etc etc. I used to soft lane change and swing out into the right side of lane 1 when overtaking most of the time, now i do it almost all the time. Typically in smooth traffic, if I'm cruising in lane 2 i tend to position slightly to the right. My rationale is that left side slower vehicle but slightly in front of me if cut into my lane its likely the fella did not check spot. Cars approaching from my rear right but faster likely to clear me. As they about to pass me i return to middle of centre lane. What do you all think ah?

This thread the past posts not bad, good case examples for newbies to learn.
