KTM Duke 200 worth it?

Hi Guys,

 

I just got my class 2b, i m looking for a "cool" class 2B bike and i kind of lean towards KTM Duke 200. I have a few questions.

 

1) Is it worth paying for KTM Duke 200? I mean quality of the bike wise. I'm planning to use it till class 2

2) Is there any other bikes you guys think looks good? I kind of like naked bike and vintage looks, but i do not like sports bike. Feel free to recommend me a class 2b bike

3) Speaking of Duke being expensive to maintain, any one who have own 1 of this machine can do a review on the maintenance potion and what do you like/dislike the bike?

4) should i buy a new bike or old bike since i just passed my class 2B

I feel u should go for a used 2b since u have intention for class 2. Used bike is cheaper and can let u offload easier. New bike depreciate fast and current Coe very high. That's how I feel hope it helps

1) It being worth it or not is subjective. Since you are already leaning towards KTM Duke 200, just go get one.

No one will scold anyone for getting a bike of their own preference.

After all, you are the one riding it. And I am sure it will definitely make you feel good riding a bike you want to own.

2) Consider FZ16, Honda Tiger

 

3) No input from me. Riding FZ16

 

4) Just gotten license? Personal advice.. Get an "old" 2nd hand bike with some COE left to it, preferably from known trustworthy contacts. Use this machine to really get use to riding everyday in SG clocking experience for a year (incl. to learn setting budget of owning a bike)

 

--> Getting a new machine at this time with the current COE, plus insurance for a new rider is not something I would risk doing.

Im riding duke 200 for few months. I like it a lot. only thing is the engine get hot very fast

I would think getting a Duke390 would be a better choice. just bear with it for another year.

cant go wrong with duke 200.

its the best in performance 2b bike.

 

be careful releasing clutch on 1st gear..its jumpy in 1st and 2nd gear for a newbie,
