Hi gents! I'm looking to upgrade to a new Super 4 Revo but I do have some concerns. Most probably will own it for the long run. Would you guys recommend it still? I'm looking at some of the FC numbers and it's making me think twice...

Dear all.

I just got a 2nd hand revo. I never ride a vtec bike before. I got a question. How do I know my vtec is open up? Cause I know revo is a bit different from spec1 to 3. Revo is partially open from 1st to 5th gear and wide open at 6th gear. All my friend that own SF4 told me that there is sound change when vtec is open. But I seriously don't hear a sudden change in sound. I only notice that the bike is keep pulling away fast when RPM is 7000-8000 RPM. BTW, my is stock pipe. Speed is going fast so does the RPM.

Can any one advise is my vtec gone or the revo is like that?

Thank you.:):)

I think your bike is OK. VTEC operates all four valves at 6,300RPM in gears 1st to 5th and 6,750RPM in 6th gear. I'm like you and don't notice the sound change, just the screaming of the engine as the rev's rise. One thing you will notice when using VTEC a lot is high fuel consumption.

Good choice for a bike, I really like mine.

P.S. this forum seems to have lost all its members for some reason?

Hello. I recently got a problem with my 2011 revo (BlackEngine).

My spark plug misifres when aceelerating and when cold starting.

At one point, it misfires permenantly. I changed my sparkplugs, thinking it was just sparkplug worn off.

Everything is back to normal.

Then 1 week later, my motorcycle misfires on and off. Sometime ok sometime misfires. Really annoying.

My RPM also very low now,

(Example) Im at traffic light, when i clutch in and rev, it goes up normally, but goes down to rpm 1.1 like that and returns to 1.4 slowly in 5-8 seconds.

Really paiseh when half clutch and misfires again to move off. Sounds like Ninja 250!!

I tried disabling my quickshifter, took out red rev, zero my PC5. It still misfires sometimes. Getting annoying!

Please help me, as i dont know what to do!! Really stressed.

My number is 98630469 if you want i can whatsapp you the misfire video.

Several things can cause a motorcycle to misfire but one of the most common causes is a cracked spark plug cap or wire. If your plug cap have hairline fractures that are so small you can't even see. If you run your bike at night sometimes you can see the electricity jumping to ground and in the rain this problem is generally worse because crusty old seals tend to let water in. Try squeezing on the rubber of the seals and see if they have small cracks, if they do, it is time to change them. Good luck.

Hi all,

I'm quite a motorbike newbie and need some advice. I really like the CB400 Revo but find it quite expensive. Recently, I've come across a shop selling the brand new bike at a much lower price than I expected. Is there something I need to watch out for? Or am I just lucky they really selling it cheap (maybe old stock clearance?)

Thanks in advance for any advice.

hi guys, wish to get some inputs from all revos riders out here. Recently, i bought a 2nd hand revo, registered 2011. Still have a good 4 years left on COE. I am now on my 3rd tank, and wow, the FC is really bad. I'm getting avg of 220 km for 13 litres....17km/litre....!!!?? Driving mostly 90km/hr, occassionally vtec open, city 70%, expressway 30%. Its very very bad compared to my previous version S ( 23km/litre ). What could be the problem with the revo? Tuning wise? The revo comes with gpr muffler though and power of the revo is superb.

Thanks in advance for the reply

Check sprockets are standard, 15T front and 44T rear. I run 16T front and 40T rear, it really helps with fuel consumption. From a drag start at the lights of course it is a bit slower 0-100kph

Or maybe the air filter is dirty?

Big improvements are usually down to the rider. A heavy right hand drinks fuel. Try riding more smoothly and shifting gear sooner. Less fun but you may live longer:angel:

Hi guys im new here. May I ask if cb400 revo abs Is it the same vtec as spec 3?

Does it has vtec ?

Yes, the Revo has VTEC the same as spec 3. The only things Honda added to the engine was a catalytic converter & fuel injection. I think the VTEC is active at slightly different RPM's

Hi,

I have got a 2016 Cb400 bike.

At exactly 78km/h I can hear a sound coming from the bike.

Is that normal? Very difficult to show mechanic because I have to ride it for the sound to appear.

It sound like something is opening or sort. As it only happens at 78km/h after the bike have been ridden

for like 10mins.

Hope somebody here got an answer.

It sound like something is opening or sort. It only occurs when riding above 80km/h for 10-15mins,

then when you drop speed a sound can be heard at exactly 78km/h.

Hope somebody here got an answer.

SOLVED.
